Drawing through space.

The brief of this session was to collaborate in small groups using a range of wires, paper, tape, thread, wool and found objects to create a 3d ‘drawing’. My group worked fairly individually to begin with, each making something ourselves, then placing them together towards the end of the session to make our large 3D structure. I really enjoyed this first part of the session as I liked using the chicken wire to make a small model, however struggled much more with the second part of the class where we drew the combined 3D drawing.
I think I found it difficult because there was so much going on in our structure that it was hard to know where to start. There were also so many varied colours and layers to draw that it didn’t translate easily to a 2D drawing. I enjoyed drawing on the tracing paper though, as you could give drawings more depth by layering them on top of one another.
